Today, i was looking for some farmers market and i found one on Metro Hall. I was really really excited to go there, but when i got there, they told me that the farmer market have moved to another location where i didn't know where was that. but then after asking some people i got there.
Farmer Market in the Barbara Frum Atrium at CBC (250 Front St. W.).
It wasn't that crowded, so i talked with a girl and I asked her if could help me out with my project, she was agreed to help me, but since she's not a farmer, she recommend me to talk with her brother who was busy talking with a costumer about farms and things like that.
When he was done talking with that costumer, I started talking to him, his name is Justin, really nice, and kind person with such a awesome heart always able to help people.
INTERVIEW
I started asking him about his biography and background and his "story"
Justin replied that " We started about 20 years ago as a green house well ac and escalated as to do in farmer markets and now we are farm vegetables"
Me: Where is your farm place.
Justin: Our Farm is in Goderich, Ontario, its actually in Lockdown, Ontario
Me: Whats your philosophy for choosing to farm, or not to farm organically?
Justin: We practice organic, we sort of don't but everything we do is organically growing. we looked at it one time but we didn't decide went back, we just kept doing what we had been doing.
Me: Are there any political or environmental initiatives or stances that they support or oppose?
Justin: You always have better choice to get natural food, but the laws in Ontario are strict with farming that you can't pick anything thats been sprayed within 2 weeks, it just better for us. its nothing about one is more harmful than other.
MY EXPERIENCE
Well, my experience was really good, i got impressed for his attitude such a amazing guy, and while he was talking with the costumer, he was saying that they even open during winter and his dad and his family have kind of maple farm, where they get syrup and thats what they do on winter.
I learn that in order to be farmer in Ontario you gotta follow and submit to many rules, its not that easy but its really worthy. His sister was really nice with me, and really gently.
I do recommend to go there and ask for Justin, he will give really nice products and such an incredible costumer service.
